A long weekend! Starting at 7.00am Saturday with a visit to Bunnings to get compressed cement sheet and pre-mix concrete before Ben (renderer dude)’s arrival. The day ticked along with the measuring, cutting and placement of the Hebel slab, followed by cutting and placement of the cement sheet. At 7.50am I carted a tonne of bricks to Welland Waste Depot to say goodbye to the old bbq. An exchange of $48 to the dump man saw me first in line to the rubble pit to discard the old red bricks and dream of exciting things to come. Note to self, next time I decide to demolish something I will get a mini skip delivered directly to the house. Unloading and locking broken bricks isnt for me.
After measuring, inventing, sketching, measuring, walking around in circles and some more measuring and thinking I’d decided that it was all too hard and that the old BBQ had to go! I’d tried to save it to no avail, and with the entire area needing a re-model it was time to consult the sledgehammer of destiny.
